Hi loves. We do hope that the month of August has been good to you as it has been for us, especially now that it decided to rain – well, that came by surprise. Today’s post is about one of our hotel tours while we were in Watamu and we were honored to be at the famous Medina Palms. You guys, this is one of the best places we have ever been in Watamu – so serene and breathtaking.
The fact that we had travelled during the low season even made it better. One is due to the fact that there is more privacy since guests tend to be very few with a quiet and peaceful environment. Two, the hotel rates are half price; I mean who would not want to save some coins, huh?! This then means, more explorations around for less. The only activities that were missing during this low season were the water sports like kayaking, jet skiing and kite skiing due to low numbers of guests.
This was not sad for us because the weather would not even allow us to try out those activities. It used to rain on and off and then towards the evenings, cold and strong breezes would ensue; trust us, we did not want to be caught up in all that drama. In the evening, we would go back to the hotel and enjoy hot cups of coffee while watching some series or even story telling as we awaited dinner.
Our steward, Andrew, made us even feel so special by always checking up on us to ensure that we were comfortable at all times – thank you Andrew. Kindly pardon some of the pictures because on this particular day, the sun did not just cooperate. Plus, as usual, Kate, our bestie can be spotted in all the pictures. She is such an awesome gem to travel with. That’s all for now guys, enjoy the rest of the pictures.
